There is this vision of art as a rational, research-based undertaking. Like surgery: make an incision into the unseen and see. Remove or unclog, even heal. It’s a fantasy I can’t subscribe to. I’m drawn to the absurd and the ecstatic. I’m playing. I’m dead serious.
